As discussed in class, why do you feel Headlines are so important in web content? Please provide me with another headline you clicked on recently (submit the exact headline including a screenshot) and outline in detail why you clicked it. In question #2, I asked why it resonated with you. For this question, why did you click on it? This cannot be the same headline as question #2 (8 Marks)
Headlines are more important than ever in today’s wide landscape of web content. This is because of the fact there is so much content consumers see today and it is often overwhelming for consumers to find what they’re looking for or interested in. Users today also have a very small attention span and like to get their fulfilling information easily and quickly, users don’t like searching around for information and seek results within seconds by scanning the screen instead of taking the time to read. Because of this high-quality relevant headlines are more important than ever for websites to have and for their visitors to find. Headlines that are created with keywords included are also very important for web content. Having keywords in a headline that are relevant to users’ search queries allows for the content of the website to be found because Google recognizes based on the <h1> tags if the content is relevant to the search. Prioritizing your most important keywords for your headlines is a great SEO ranking strategy and is the best way to show Google the importance of your content and how your website can be helpful to a visitor’s search. Within your website content you can use headlines to not only prioritize your most important information but to also create proper structure and organization within the content of your website. Users and Google can both quickly scan your most important information first and rank it accordingly while also providing easy navigation for website visitors. If the headline includes clarity, relevance, powerful words, uniquely stands out, important keywords, and targets its ideal audience well then it will be found by the intended audience that is searching for it. Headlines are meant to serve as the initial contact point between a website and its visitors which is why they are so important and should be created with a strategy.
Former Nickelodeon Child Stars Tell of Toxic Environment in ‘Quiet on Set’ Trailer, Exclaim, February 8th, 2024
The docuseries digs into “allegations of abuse, sexism, racism, and innapropriate dynamics”
I originally heard about this movie through a post on Instagram but it lacked information about the movie and was not the full extent of the information I was looking for, my friends were also discussing this movie. I wanted to know exactly who was in it, what TV shows/movies it mentioned, and if the movie was only about TV Producer Dan Schneider or other important people in the industry as well. I went to Google to find information about the movie. After searching “Dan Schneider movie trailer” this website was the first result. This article gave me all the information I needed and said this movie is a “New docuseries delving into Dan Schneider’s Nickelodeon television empire has received its first trailer.” This article also said that it was about the childhood stars of “The Amanda Show, iCarly, and Zoey101” which I watched extensively as a kid and was exactly the shows I wanted to hear about and eventually watch the movie to learn more. When I made my initial search I used the word “trailer” in my query which matched up to the exact headline of this article, I was hoping this article would provide the trailer and it did exactly that. After briefly scanning the written content on the website about the trailer, I scrolled to the bottom of the content and found the trailer which was directly linked to the page and I was able to watch the entire trailer without leaving the page. After watching the trailer I immediately wanted to know even more about this movie because the trailer had so many cliffhanging suspicions that left me with more questions. I scrolled back up and read all of the written content they had made about this trailer.
“Quiet on Set features testimony from former All That cast members Giovonnie Samuels, Kyle Sullivan, Bryan Hearne, and Katrina Johnson and director Virgil Fabian, while Zoey 101 actress Alexa Nikolas, Amanda Show writers Jenny Kilgen and Christy Stratton, Double Dare host Marc Summers and additional cast and crew from iCarly, Sam & Cat and Victorious are also featured. The series premieres March 17 on ID, with all four installments airing between March 17 and March 18.” After reading the rest of the article and all of the written content I was given even more information than the trailer gave including the TV shows, cast, and behind-the-scenes members, as well as where to watch it and when to watch it. This article gave me everything I needed based on my original search query and I did not leave the website or go and search anywhere else for information.
